Bush's spending habits

Once again President Bush's victory in Afghanistan, is costing a little more than he had imagined. Yesterday the Fearless/foolish leader of the American people told congress that he'll need them to approve his request for more funding and more troops in Afghanistan for this coming spring. Military officials believe that the US troops should anticipate an increased threat from the Taliban in the near future, and that more funding is necessary to neutralize the situation. Bush is asking for $3.2 billion and 8,200 more US troops to be sent to Afghanistan for support...
Now, my military knowledge is not extensive, But I have been led to believe from a group of different US military glossary sites that a troop is somwhere between 60-200 military personel depending on the size each platoon within the company. In any case, I think the cost of the war in Afghanistan is too high and the decision to send more troops with more money is a waste and Bush is making a mess before he leaves office for the next president to try and clean up.

It's time that people step back and realize that some countries are just not situated properly for a fully functioning democracy at the present time.

You are probably right; our idea of democracy will most likely never exist in Iraq. Personally, I feel that a strong governing regime is necessary in Iraq in order to keep the religious factions from constantly fighting and killing one another. Sometimes in countries where great ideological divisions exist, an "iron fist" is the only way to keep society civil.
As for Bush and his military spending, I think that it’s complete extortion of taxpayer’s dollars. However, I don’t support an immediate pullout of Iraq either. The U.S. has disrupted the social and political climate in that country to such a great degree that they must try and repair the damage they have done, no matter what the cost. It’s the least they owe the citizens of Iraq.

I agree with regards to your feelings about spreading democracy to countries that don't want that type. I just feel that this war on Iraq will just continue to anger the middle east, and make alot of the citizens more enraged. Their country is being destroyed, innocent civilians being killed, and their government is in shambles. The US cannot leave right away because they must fix this country that they have turned into a complete disaster. I believe that this war will only breed more terrorists due to this pointless war. As for Bush's spending, I think it's ridiculous, and really enrages me considering he has spent billions and billions of tax dollars on a war that over half the country does not support. Also, there are internal problems occurring in the US that needs attention as well. New Orleans is still a mess, and health-care is through the roof. It's hard for lower class/hard-working individuals to pay for health care when it is sky high. As you probably get from my comment. I DO NOT agree with this war, and I think President Bush is one of the WORST presidents in U.S history. He has lost alot of support from his own country as well as the global community (ie. Hugo Chavez)
